At Kailend Farm, we strive to grow the best quality produce for you and your family. We think it’s really important that everyone knows where their food comes from and how it is being grown, by offering short term practical training in sustainable farming to children and guided farm tours at our farm in Agou.
We want everyone who visits our farm to come away with a renewed appreciation for fresh food. We want to encourage more families to incorporate fresh produce into their lives by providing quality produce at affordable prices.
What We Do:
Kailekka - Fruit & Vegetable home delivery service
Our Kailekka (Come and eat), fruit and vegetable home delivery service is the easiest way to get a variety of responsibly grown, fresh produce year round. You can get a bag delivered to your home every week or every other week. Along with our own freshly harvested produce, we supplement our baskets with other, organic or pesticide-free fruits and vegetables. We work closely with smallholder farmers & responsible growers to make sure seasonal fruit & vegetables don’t go to waste because sometimes farmers produce too much and more often than not don’t have a ready market to sell to. We contribute to protecting the environment and the planet each week by: fighting food waste and saving water.
Pick-Your-Own Activities
Our farm provides customers with things to do all year round! We offer pick-your-own walking tours throughout the year offering the opportunity to pick your own food through while learning about our farm’s history, and the diverse crops we grow.
Drive-Thru Farm Market Stand
Kailend Farm grows and harvests a variety of fruits and vegetables throughout the year right here on the farm using responsible farming methods. Produce is harvested daily so we can deliver to you the freshest and best tasting produce that we can. Because we only grow row crops here at the farm, we also purchase other quality produce from partner farms, which may be organic or conventionally grown.
Our Values:
Educating: Children and adults should know where their food is coming from, how it grows, why it’s good for them and that it is delicious! The more that a child sees and touches fruits and vegetables in their natural state, the more likely they are to eat it. It doesn’t matter how nutritious and beneficial produce is, if a child doesn't eat it, it’s not doing them any good.
Entertaining: Here at the farm, we make eating fruits and vegetables fun with our tours. Children can especially benefit from learning through hands on experiences. Being in the field and seeing where their food is growing and tasting it is a memorable experience for a young child. We want children to come away from their experiences at the farm with a positive outlook on fruits and vegetables by making our tours fun and enjoyable for everyone.
Farming Responsibly: Your safety and our environment is our top priority. We always engage in environmentally friendly practices for safety and Good Agricultural Practices in everything we do. We take pride in being responsible farmers. We know you care about your good health and the food that you and children consume, and so do we.
Giving Back: We care about our community and we think it’s important that Kailend Farm gives back to the community that supports us. We provide free water access for several families in need and every year we contribute to providing several scholarship and vocational training opportunities for low-income earning women and youths. Kailend Farm surplus produce is often donated to several orphanages and a shelter for rehabilitated street children.
